Sing, Sing, Sing!

“The best way to spread festive cheer is singing loud for all to hear!”

All of our classes have been out singing in the community spreading the joy this week.

Yesterday we all sang in the Eastgate Centre and raised an incredible £305 for MFr Cash For Kids.

Thank you to all of you who came along and supported the children throughout the week.

This afternoon was great and such a lovely way to end the term.

We would like to thank you all for your continued support throughout the year. We hope you have a lovely and relaxing Christmas holiday. We look forward to seeing you back next year!

Best wishes,

The Central Team.

Christmas Fayre

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped support our Christmas Fayre. Thank you to all of our parent helpers who came in last week during Family Involvement Week to help with our crafts. The children all worked  very hard to make the fayre a huge sucess.

It was a great afternoon! Well done everyone 🙂

ELCC and P1

The ELCC and P1 pupils did the school proud on Thursday 13th and Friday 14th December by going out to the Highland Council, Head Quarters and the Highland Hospice to sing Christmas carols.  Everyone enjoyed the pupils singing and we have been invited back to the Highland Hospice again next year.

Plastic Free Fridays

Do you think it’s possible to live life without plastic? Or to at least live with less of it? We’re almost at the end of 2018 and, all through the year, one message has been heard loud and clear – single-use plastic is bad.

P6 have been learning about plastic pollution. They would like to invite whole school to get involved with their project – #PlasticFreeFriday.

The children are encouraged to bring plastic free snack (reusable containers are welcome). It will help to reduce the amount of plastic we produce every day.

At the end of the term, P6 will calculate the amount of reduced plastic and the winning class will take part in Healthy Tea Party J

Christmas clothing day

Last week P5 organised a referendum where pupils were asked whether they wanted a non-school uniform day on Friday this week.

In total 102 children voted, with 88 saying yes and 14 saying no.

As a result, all children can wear Christmas jumpers and items of clothing on Friday as we enjoy our singing round the tree on the final day of term.

Choir Reminder

There will be no choir tomorrow, Wednesday, 19th December, or on the first Wednesday back after the holidays. Choir will restart on Wednesday 16th January.

We will be singing at the Eastgate Centre next Thursday 20th, please see the latest school newsletter for full details. Choir children will need a packed lunch that day – if a school packed lunch is required, please let the school know tomorrow.

Thank you.

Creative Writing club

The Creative Writing Club will restart on Tuesday the 22nd of January 2019 and will and run to the 26th of March  2019.

If you want to keep yourself busy during the holidays, you could use one of the Christmas Themed writing activities:

  • If I had a reindeer…
  • Pretend you are Rudolph. What is your Christmas Eve like?
  • Write a story about a time when a gingerbread man came to life.
  • Oh no! The sleigh is missing! How will Santa deliver the presents?
  • What is your favourite thing to do at Christmas time?
  • Pretend the Queen has passed a law banning Christmas. Write a letter to convince the Queen that Christmas should not be banned.
  • Pretend you have been given a baby reindeer to raise. Write about what you will do to take care of it. What challenges will you have to overcome?
