Online enrolment opens for 2021/2022

The Highland Council is inviting parents and carers to enrol their child online for primary 1 and ELC for this school year starting 17 August 2021.

If your child will be five years of age on or before 28 February 2022, they are eligible to enrol for primary 1.

Children born between 1 March 2017 and 28 February 2019 are entitled to a funded ELC place.

The primary 1 enrolment week for Highland schools is from Monday 25 January to Friday 29 January 2021. For ELC places, enrolment week will be Monday 8 February to Friday 12 February 2021.

To enrol your child, or for further information on completing the online form, the enrolment process, catchment areas, Gaelic Medium education, school transport and placing requests, please visit www.highland.gov.uk/enrol (external link).

Once you have enrolled your child online, the school will contact you to arrange the necessary induction for your child.

Please be aware that although you may wish your child to attend a school other than your local primary school, you must first enrol at your catchment area primary school and then make a placing request.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no face-to-face enrolment in schools this year.  Parents who do not have access to the online enrolment process should contact their catchment school during enrolment week to request a paper copy of the enrolment form.

Childcare Direct Debits

It has been agreed to suspend of all childcare DDs with immediate effect and we will contact you prior to them being reinstated.  On receipt of your next statement if fees are due, and if you are still using the service, you can either make payment by the one off payment link or as normal if you pay by voucher or Tax Free Childcare.  If you use vouchers or Tax Free Childcare please ensure you contact your provider to adjust your contract with them as we do not want anyone to be in a position where they have transferred excess funds as refunds for voucher payments cannot be guaranteed.

If you want your DD payment to continue please contact the school who will arrange this for you.

I hope you are all well and have had a restful break.

Following the announcements from the First Minister yesterday, I have now received the letter for parents which I am attaching for your information.

Please confirm if you meet the criteria for key worker status and you wish your child to attend school so that I may organise staff to supervise.

A message on See Saw is best. We have a lot to plan over the next few days and thank you in advance for your support with this. I hope the letter will answer the many questions that you have raised so far, if not then please feel free to message us. Kind
