Happy Friday Everyone,
It has been lovely to see and hear all of the great learning happening in school this week.
We had a special visit from a former pupil and former teacher at Central School this week.
Mrs Aitken and her brother Mr Paterson met a small group of P7 pupils and delighted them with their stories from their time as pupils, and in Mrs Aitken’s case as a teacher.
The children recorded a short audio clip with some of their highlights from the conversation. You can listen to it by following this link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/22n58nhcynr048b/1.m4a?dl=0
We will continue to provide information and updates from Highland Council as we receive them.
As numbers are high at present, we would encourage everyone to make sure that they wear a face covering when they enter the grounds and to maintain their distances while waiting. Some parents have commented that they feel more comfortable if others are wearing face coverings.
School/Home Partnership Learning
One of the activities that Mrs Aitken and Mr Paterson told the children about was “Nature Notes”. On a Sunday she and her family would go for walk and the children had to draw something from nature which they saw during the walk.
As it’s the long weekend this weekend, maybe you’ll have the chance to do some Nature Notes!
We will be holding parents evening on the 28th and 30th of September. We will provide more details in due course.
We are looking forward to receiving some bird boxes. These will be put up in the playground and the garden.
Primary 2 Trip
Primary 2 went on a trip to Queen Street yesterday to see the original site of Central School. Although they got a little wet, they found the trip very interesting and enjoyed talking about how the environment has changed over the last 200 years!
After school clubs
As restrictions have eased, our after school clubs will resume. This week we had a sewing club for a small group of children. More details about after school clubs will follow next week.
Just a wee reminder that Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th are in-service days. Children will return to school on Wednesday 15th.
We appreciate all responses to our questionnaire so far. We will be using your responses next week to feed in to our School Improvement Plan. The questionnaire should take no more than five minutes to complete.

Below are a few photos of learning from Seesaw this week.
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
