Happy Friday everyone.

We have had a lovely, busy first week back and are ending with a seasonal disco.

Many thanks to Mr Wozniak for providing the music for the children to enjoy.  It is great to be able to hold such an event again 😊

Class teachers will post this term’s overview for learning on Google Classroom at the beginning of next week.

P7 will finish their block of swimming next week. They have all enjoyed their lessons and were a credit to the school.

P6/7 will have swimming in block 3 (week beginning 30th January to 21st April)

Friday Update 7/10/2022

Happy Friday everyone.

We end of term seems to have come round really quickly. Discussions about plans for the holidays have been taking place this week. The team have noted after such a busy term everyone is looking forward to spending some time with friends and family.

Baxter’s 5K

The Baxter’s team all enjoyed the event on Sunday and most were proudly wearing their medals this week.  We are really proud of their participation and personal achievements, well done!

Cross Country

Miss MacDonald took a team of P6 & 7 children to participate in the Cross Country Championships at the Bught on Thursday.  They had a great morning at the event with fantastic results against very tough competition.  Well done everyone!

P5/6 visited the farm at Inverness High School this afternoon to have a quick look at our allotment.  As we move through the year classes will be visiting the farm as part of our curriculum. We plan to grow some veggies and fingers crossed make some goodies with them.

P5/6 have also been busy with an ice-cream enterprise this week which has gone very well.

ELC Staffing

Delighted to let you know that following competitive interview Mrs T Ferguson was appointed to the post of Senior Early Years Practitioner.  As Mrs Ferguson is already working with us, she will assume her promoted responsibilities after the holidays.  Mrs R Tracey was appointed as Support Worker and will take up her duties in the next month or so.

Key Assessments

As part of learning the children have taken home key assessments to share with families in the last couple of weeks.  These are an important part of our assessment calendar and we look forward to you returning them as soon as possible if you have not already done so. Thank you.

Black History Day

Please find attached a flyer for more information on Family Fun Day for Black History which is taking place at Eden Court on Saturday 15th October.   We would encourage as much participation where possible, given the children’s keen interest in Black History which was highlighted as part of Central Two Centuries. Entry is free and tickets can be booked using the link below.

Next term

As part of our School Improvement and PEF plan, we welcome back members for Eden Court Engagement Team!! We are all buzzing about this. 😊

We also look forward to confirming a date when we welcome parents back into school for an open afternoon.

We wish you all a really lovely break and look forward to seeing everyone again on Monday 24th October,

Kind regards
