Happy Friday everyone!

We finish another lovely and busy week at Central. Thankfully the days are stretching and beginning to feel a bit warmer.

Parent’s Evenings

We will hold face to face Parent’s Evenings on Monday 27th February from 3.30 to 6pm and on Thursday from 5.30 to 8.00pm.

Connect Us

We did not renew our contract with the Connect Us app due to cost and lack of parental use.  Communication will continue through Google Classroom, our school blog and Facebook, however we are hoping to sign up to a new app later this session that allows two way communication.

Rights Respecting Schools

Primary 6/7 delivered a super assembly this week about UNCRC Article 17.

‘’Children and young people should be able to access information, particularly from the media. They should be able to get information from many places— from their country and beyond.’’

Internet Safety day was on the 7th of February,  we learned about how to keep safe while accessing information online.

The key message from our assembly about Internet safety were:

  • Don’t share personal information
  • Block or report suspicious links
  • Don’t accept any friend requests you don’t know. If someone tries to add you that you don’t know, block, report and tell a trusted adult.
  • Remember to be kind to people when chatting/typing online.
  • If you are unsure or feel unsafe speak to a trusted adult.

You may wish to learn a bit more about this article as part of home school partnership learning this week?

P7 Bake Sale

What a super effort from the P7s for their Bake Sale this week. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the P7 Bake Sale. There were lots of yummy treats enjoyed. Well done P7.

National Sleep Helpline

Having a sleep issue is surprisingly common. At any given time up to 40% of adults and 50% of children (this rises to 80% with a SEND diagnosis) have difficulties with their sleep.

The helpline is run by a team of specialist trained sleep advisors. Although they cannot give medical advice, they can talk through your issues, offer you some practical strategies and recommend services that could help.

Parent Council

The Parent Council have an important role to play in school improvement by ensuring that parental perspective is represented and taken into account. The Parent Council helps to create an environment where all parents know their views matter, and where they feel confident and comfortable putting them forward.

We would like to encourage more parents to become involved in the wider life of our school and join our existing parent council members.

Connecting healthily with others is a key part of living a fulfilling life and feeling loved, cared for and safe.

Use the link below to explore a few simple ways you can connect with your child and help them to make meaningful connections.
