RECYCLE YOUR CRISP PACKETS
Every year countless pieces of crisp packets end up in landfill sites across the UK.
We are working with TerraCycle® to put an end to this enormous loss of resources.
The Crisp Packet Recycling Scheme allows us to recycle your crisp packets and prevent them from ending up in landfill.
Not only are you helping the environment, but the waste you recycle with us also helps to fund schools or organisations.
We will be collecting crisp packets until 1st of April. The children attended a short assembly today to hear all about it and know where to put their packets. Some pupils from P6 will collect these at break and lunch time.
Baillie Cup Training Session
P2 and P3 will now attend the Northern Meeting Park on Friday 22nd March.
P1 and P4 will attend on Friday 29th March.
This is the run offs for the P1-4 pupils who will be selected to take part in the Baillie Cup on Saturday 1st June 2019. It would be very helpful if you could please ensure that your child has a pair of well-fitting trainers/running shoes for these sessions.
We had a fun filled World Book Day. We dressed up as characters from our favourite books. First thing in the morning we visited the National Book Day Fair. In Primary 1 we played some parachute games and then read, Little Red Riding Hood, in the tent we made with the parachute. We also did a quiz about books. The winners of the quiz were Nuala and Fraser. Congratulations to both of you! You won a prize from Mrs. McMillan’s goodie bag. Then in the afternoon, our Primary 7 buddies joined us to read a story book to us. We had to answer five questions about our book. Then we had a Bronze/Silver Common Word Hunt to see how many we could find in our book. We wrote these on boards to practise spelling them.

A very big thank you to all the museum staff for hosting P1 and P1/2 pupils at their Dinosaur exhibition. They gave us a lot information about Dinosaurs during our visits on Tuesday and Thursday.
The highlight was definitely the clay “fossil” footprint that we made and to discovered that some of the fossils in the Exhibition were found on The Isle of Skye, Scotland.
We used our looking and listening skills to spot many different things during our visit. There was lots of information shared and questions asked.
Thanks also to the parent helpers who came along with us and helped keep us safe on our trip.
Here are a few pictures of serious palaeontologists at work 😉
Don´t forget to share your highlights of the trip with your family.
