P1 and P1/2 singing

We are going out to sing some Christmas Carols on Wednesday 19th and Thursday the 20th December. If any P1 and P1/2  parents would like to join us you are very welcome.

On Wednesday we are going to Tesco Metro. The time is still to be confirmed.

On Thursday we are going to be singing in the Eastgate Centre between 10 and 10.30 a.m.

It would be great if the pupils could wear a Christmas jumper or a Christmas head bopper or bow at these events, if they have one.

Elf Movie Night

Thank you so much to everyone who came along and supported our first ‘Movie Night’. There was such a lovely atmosphere and it has certainly helped us feel more festive!

We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to David from HCVF for providing us with the most amazing screen and technology for our event, completely free of charge! Thank you to David and Gordon for coming along, setting it all up and coming back to pick it up this morning. We are very grateful! http://www.hcvf.co.uk

HCVF have been extremely kind and have offered to let us borrow  the screen and equipment next week at our second showing on Wednesday 12th December.

Tickets are still available to purchase.

Tickets cost £2 (popcorn and a juice is included in the cost)

Doors open at 6.15pm. Film will begin at 6.30pm, finishing approximately 8pm.

All welcome 🙂

If you don’t have a slip just write a note with name, class and how many tickets and send into school next week, along with payment.

Thank you very much for all of your support! The P7s have now fundraised over £1000!

P1 and ELCC Visit to The Children’s Ward

Some of the P1 and the ELCC pupils visited the Children’s Ward at Raigmore hospital on Friday 7th December. They sang some Christmas Carols and were surprised when Val, one of the nurses brought them each two gifts. They received a Christmas Bopper to wear on their heads and a Christmas pencil and rubber. The visit was finished off with a well-earned drink of juice and a biscuit.

Primary 1

Primary 1 pupils enjoyed a fantastic Christmas crafts session on Thursday 6th December. A big Thank you to Dylan, Lucja and Ruard’s Mums for being Santa’s secret helpers. The children and parents worked together to make elves and Christmas tree decorations out of cones, paper plates and a combination of other craft materials. A fantastic time was had by all with the elves going home on the day and the tree decorations going home before the Christmas
holidays.

Parents help is still required next week. Join us for any of the following sessions:
Monday 10th or Tuesday 11th December: Reading a story in your home language to the Primary 1 pupils – speak to Mrs. McMillan to arrange a time. We would love you to join us in the class.
Wednesday 12th: Making shortbread – 9.30-10.30, 11-12 or 1.15-2.15pm
Thursday 13th: Decorating shortbread and muffins – 9.30-10.30, 11-12 or 1.15-2.15pm
Friday 14th: Wrapping shortbread and muffins – 9.30-10.30 or 11-12

Please let Mrs. McMillan, P1 Class teacher, know if you are able to join us for any of the above activities.

P1 and ELCC Visit Ach An Eas Care Home

The residents of Ach An Eas Care Home were entertained on Wednesday 5th December by the Primary 1 and Nursery pupils Christmas carol performance. The feedback from residents and staff is that they would love to have us back again some time. During our visit the pupils enjoyed some refreshments of juice and biscuits after all their hard work.  Everyone had a fantastic time. The  Nursery Pupils made a Thank You card and the Primary 1 pupils made Christmas cards to show their appreciation. Here is a picture of the cards.

Keep an eye out in the Highland News and Inverness Courier for photos of the event.

Infant Ceilidh

The St. Andrew’s Day ceilidh was a great success with all the Infant classes performing a dance. Thanks to Rhona and Lachlan for a lovely display of Highland Dancing. Mr. McMillan kindly came along and played a few tunes on the bag pipes and we enjoyed a wee treat of some Scottish Shortbread.
